Iori Kithara is an odd, unorthodox yet bizarre character in the story who is pursuing Mechanical Engineering in college at the Izu Peninsula in Grand Blue.
The desire and passion to start a new life in a new area is the point where all drama centers itself and stems from.
He rents a house above his uncle’s diving shop “Grand Blue Manga”. He is easily shocked as he encounters local men at the Diving Club. Their amateurish behavior and activities appalled him but he is the kind of guy who believes anything. These men are sexually potent, spoiled wanderers with a newly added member on their A-Team.
At this point and time, Iori tricks Kohei in the famous Peek a Boo diving club. Shinji and Ryujiro decorated the walls with weird posters in Iori’s room which give a lewd touch so they can trap him in Grand Blue.
Meanwhile, Lori learns a great deal about diving. Strange acquaintance between the characters (Grand Blue Manga) and perplexity of relationships forces the reader to dive deep into the story as it draws towards the end.
Iori and Kohei are to contest in a Male Pageant to raise money for the Diving Club, apparently, they have no winning spirit, or desperation to work for the title.
They want Chisa to win money for them in Female Pageant Show at Izu Spring Festival.
Chisa declines their offer, however, she does agree to participate only if Kohei and Lori in Grand Blue do too and so an agreement is made. As the story proceeds towards the final chapter, the thrill and excitement increases.
Women Pageant in Grand Blue Manga was the next to begin, and Chisa lifted her dress to the stage with a very stiff expression on her face which only worsened the pageant and Lori decided to throw balls in the air directed at Chisa, but no one in his crew backed him up with his plan.
Lori had to drink shochu as penance, meanwhile, a Cakey girl offered a sweet treat to Kohei which was refused.
At the end Lori and Chisa are able to win their respective Pageants. The story is still to continue and looks extremely promising.
