Ikigami an amazing manga set in a dystopian future where everyone from the age of 18-24 can be randomly killed by the government. Ikigami the name of the manga is actually what the people call the message they receive 24 hours prior to their death. The message informs the citizens that they have been randomly selected to be killed.
An inoculation chip is inserted into all children when they arrive in first grade. People with the inoculation chip inserted into them are carefully monitored by the government, any thought or action that the government may dislike will mark that citizen for Ikigami and an Ikigami delivery man is sent to apprehend the targeted individual this is where our protagonist comes in who is a guy named kengo.
During kengo’s training a colleague of his expresses his view about the government and how the law of Ikigami is unjust after which his colleague is immediately apprehended. This changes kengo’s views about the government and as the story progresses he experiences conflicting thoughts as a part of him considers this wrong and the other side of him is afraid of the possible consequences of his actions.
