Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san manga or otherwise known as “ Skilled Teaser Takagi ”, is Japanese manga series written by Sōichirō Yamamoto and published by Shogakukan.
Skilled Teaser Takagi is an ongoing series with 9 volumes to date. It is a romantic comedy series which focuses on teenagers as their main demographic. And for those who prefer watching over reading, the series has also been adapted as an anime.
Skilled Teaser Takagi manga features the life of Takagi, a girl who loves to tease her classmate, Nishikata. Takagi is depicted as a carefree, clever and sweet girl who is also quite fearless. Takagi first met Nishikata at their middle school enrollment ceremony where they befriend each other.
Since then, Takagi’s constant teasing begins and she continuously makes Nishikata blush by pulling stunts like pushing him or tripping him or sometimes even by being super nice and confessing her love for him. Nishikata, tired of her constant teasing, makes it his goal to have his vengeance by doing the same to her. Unfortunately, things don’t really work out for him. Because for some reason, it seems like Takagi has this unspoken supernatural of turning Nishikata’s pranks back on him.
The Skilled Teaser Takagi series is a light-hearted read and focuses on the deep friendship of two teenagers who love and care for each other and might even have romantic feelings for one another. Because all of Takagi’s ragging is possible due to their profound friendship; she knows his behavior and habits well enough to mock him.
Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san has a related manga series, Karakai Jouzu no Moto Takagi-san, which shows the characters evolving into more mature characters as their life proceeds. Both manga series show excellent character development. And since there are other spin-offs too, this manga is perfect for everyone who loves to binge read.
