Mahou Shoujo of the End, also called Magical Girls of the End, is an action-horror, magical girl series that was first published in June 2012 and has 65 (64 + 1 special) chapters and 16 volumes, The plot revolves around a typical high school student, Kii Kogami, who has a pretty normal life that he finds mundane and wants something exciting to happen.
On a regular school day, sitting in a classroom, he looks out the window and sees a horrifying image that he wishes is just his mind playing tricks on him; he sees one of his teacher’s head explode when a little girl hits him. He rushes to the bathroom to freshen up and get that horrifying image out of his head, believing that he was dreaming.
To his horror, he returns to the classroom only to find most of his classmates dead because of the same little girl who he saw from the window in Mahou Shoujo of the End Manga, repeating the word “magic”. Shortly after, Kii and her childhood friend, Tsukune Fukumoto, witness the corpses resurrect like zombies, repeating the same word: magic.
Tsukune, as a child, had a crush on Kii and wanted to marry him. She appears to be a quiet, easily intimidated girl but Kii unravels the truth of her true lineage and her involvement in the matter later when he visits her childhood home.
With the help of police officer Rintaro Akuta and other survivors, including a girl named Kaede Sayano, who also had a crush on Kii, they try to survive and figure out how to defeat the Magical Girls.
